The Ergobaby Aerloom Baby Carrier in Sandstone has a great balance of style, comfort, and functionality, making it a solid choice for everyday use.
We have the Sandstone colourway, which is lovely and neutral, making it a perfect choice for those who prefer something more subtle. The quality of the carrier is immediately noticeable—it's made from breathable materials that feel durable and high-end.
The Aerloom is lightweight, which makes carrying the baby easier than I initially anticipated. One of the standout features I was really pleased with is the lumbar-support waist belt, which provides great lower back support. I've seen friends struggle with carriers that lack this feature (having a strap across the top only), so I truly appreciate how much more comfortable it makes carrying my baby.
Another great aspect of the carrier is the large zippered front pocket. While I haven't used the pouch yet, it's incredibly handy to have a space large enough for essentials like phones, keys, and cards, eliminating the need to carry an additional bag or have very full pockets. This added convenience is a nice touch for parents on the go.
My first experience with the carrier was when my baby was just a few weeks old. I did struggle a bit with putting my baby in it in the newborn setting. I felt that his head wasn't fully supported if he decided to thrash it away from me, and there isn't an additional flap for head support that you can flip up, as I’ve seen on other carriers. Between my baby being a bit unsettled and my own sleep deprivation, I decided to set it aside for a bit and try again later.
When we tried again at 10 weeks, it was a much smoother experience. By this point, my baby fit comfortably into the main setting rather than the newborn setting, and I was feeling more up for getting it fitted correctly after having some sleep! I did also come across a great hack on Instagram: having the top back strap pre-buckled and sliding it over your head before tightening the side straps. This little trick made it significantly easier to get the baby in and out of the carrier than when I initially followed the online instructions. Since then, it has been so much more manageable.
Overall, I’m impressed with the Ergobaby Aerloom Baby Carrier. It’s lightweight, breathable, and high-quality. The lumbar support belt is a game-changer, and the thoughtful features like the large pocket make it a practical choice. While the newborn setting had a bit of a learning curve, it’s become a go-to for daily use now that we’ve got the hang of it. I highly recommend it for parents looking for a supportive and comfortable carrier that’s also stylish and convenient.
