Babymel Top 'n' Tail Eco Changing Bag Review

Every parent knows how important a changing bag is, but have you ever thought that it is equally important what it is made of? Babymel recently introduced their "eco" collection, full of bags made from recycled materials and vegan leather to help parents make eco choices. 

We gave our trusted parent testers the Babymel Top 'n' Tail Eco Bag, which is made from recycled plastic bottles, to put to the test. Keep reading to find out what they thought of this eco alternative changing bag.

The Babymel Top ‘n’ Tail Eco Rose Changing bag has been brilliant. I had an over the shoulder changing bag with my first baby and knew I needed to try a different design this time to save my neck, and something with much more space, having a toddler in tow too.

The bag arrived extremely quickly (always impressed with the NBS’s service) and very well packaged. The bag is a unique design, which I really like; I have never seen anything like it before. The colour is gorgeous which is true to the pictures on the website and it’s made from recycled plastic bottles, which is just amazing in itself! I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bag; I needed something with more space having a baby and toddler to pack for soon. This holds everything you need for a day out, and even has space to put my purse, keys etc. It came with a bottle warmer, washable changing mat and a fold away reusable shopping bag.

I really like how the inside is separated into two compartments to keep the changing and feeding sides organised, even the husband keeps things (almost) in their place! It can comfortably hold all the baby essentials, toddler snacks and a change of clothes, and my essentials if I don’t want to take a separate bag for myself; this is down to the spacious design inside and the pull cord closure (there is a zip closure inside too). The only place I would have liked an extra zip is in the middle front pocket, as this is where I would tend to put my phone or keys but can’t because it would be very open and could easily fall out or get stolen.  

The bag itself is comfy to wear and the weight doesn’t pull on your neck or shoulders. It has additional ‘stroller straps’ to allow you to easily attach it to your pram handles, we have quite a small pushchair and it didn’t get in the way or affect the balance at all. The only thing I found is that the main straps are quite long when tightened; I am quite small so it meant rather long dangling straps from the excess.

Overall I love the bag, it is brilliant quality and it will definitely be a staple in our everyday life. I will definitely be recommending this to my pregnant friends.

Now I've been using Babymel Top 'n' Tail Changing Bag for over a month and I can say it is well-made, good quality backpack. As a mum of 3 little ones I am very happy with the size of this backpack, it is quite big but not bulky, definitely fits everything we need! It has 2 sections and few little pockets inside. It comes with a changing mat, insulated bottle pocket and a bag for spare clothes which I found is very useful to use as a shopping bag as well. 

Item has arrived very promptly, packed in a box. The colour is exactly the same as it was shown online. The backpack is very easy to use, I love the wide opening drawstring top and it also has a zipped closure what makes it more secure. I absolutely love the fact it is made from recycled plastic bottles! And I forgot to mention it is all waterproof so it is perfect to use anytime no matter how bad is the weather. 

A favourite feature of mine has to be the integrated stroller clips so you won't need to buy any extra hooks or similar things to make it possible to attach the backpack to your stroller.  It’s also nice to have the option of wearing on your back, shoulder or simply just to carry it in your hand.
