There are so many do’s and don’ts around car safety, it’s hard to keep up with what is best and safest for your child. The amazing people at CYBEX want to help make this a little easier for you with their recent launch of the CYBEX SensorSafe.

What is SensorSafe?
SensorSafe is the brand new revolutionary technology from CYBEX. It fuses smart technology with smart design to give peace of mind for you and better safety for your child. The SensorSafe is a clip that attaches to the harness system of your little ones car seat which is connected to your smartphone to provide essential health and safety alerts.
SensorSafe’s mission is to help prevent critical situations happening in the car. It will alert you when your child unbuckles the clip, when the ambient temperature around your child is too hot or too cold, if your little one is left unattended in the car and if your child has been seated for too long. Providing a unique child monitoring system that ensures the safety and health of your child is always your first priority.
All alerts are received via Bluetooth on your smart phone through a user friendly app that also provides guidance on installation, how-to videos, FAQs and more.

Installation Checklist
To help maximise the safety of your child, the SensorSafe app will guide you through the correct installation process for your car seat. The simple to understand safety checklist shows you the essential installation points with ease, such as the use of the Linear Side-impact Protection (LSP) and ISOFIX installation. The installation checklist will also remind you at certain time intervals of your child’s growth to make the correct adjustments to their seat in relation to their growing size.
Harness alerts
With 51% of parents reporting that their child has unbuckled themselves from their own car seat it is clear that this is a problem many parents face. The SensorSafe chest clip firstly helps to secure the harness making it harder for your child to slip out of their harness system. It also alerts you via a push notification to your smartphone if your child does manage to open the clip.
Temperature warning
SensorSafe also ensures your child always travels at a safe temperature. It monitors the ambient temperature of your car, when temperatures gets too hot or too cold you will be alerted. The warning is activated when the temperature in the car reaches either 35°c or falls to 7°c. This will help prevent your child from overheating or overcooling whilst in the car.
Child alone warning
The child alone warning helps to give parents the security of knowing they are always with a parent or loved one. If the driver of the car leaves the vehicle and the car seat is still buckled with a child inside, the user will receive a notification to let them know the baby is still in the car unsupervised.
If nothing changes after five minutes, you can optionally choose for the app to send notifications to your emergency contacts letting them know the baby has been left in the car, along with the car’s location.
Have a break
To avoid your child sitting in the car for longer than is deemed safe, the take a break alert informs you if the SensorSafe chest clip has been closed for a prolonged period of time. It will recommend you take a break and remove your little one from their car seat for a while. If you do need to travel long distances, take frequent breaks to give your baby time our of their car seat.
Availability
Due to the SensorSafe being a homologation and not an accessory, it is only available with certain Cybex and GB i-Size car seats. You can not buy it separately as it is only approved for use with certain car seats.
SensorSafe comes with a wide range of Cybex and gb car seats; Cybex Platinum (Cloud Z and Sirona Z), Cybex Gold (Aton M i-Size, Sirona S i-Size and Sirona M2 i-Size) and gb (Vaya i-Size).
