You may be thinking of starting the weaning journey with your little one, or perhaps you have already started but running out of inspiration for yummy and healthy recipes that your little one will actually enjoy. We bought together some of our tried and tested weaning purees that were a big hit with our little ones and may be the perfect purees for your weaning baby.
When your baby reaches around six months old, they are ready to begin eating solid foods. These recipes will give them the nutrition they need, while introducing plenty of different flavours to help develop their sense of taste.
While baby-led weaning (the weaning technique of giving your baby small finger sized food to allow them to feed themselves) is gaining in popularity, a lot of parents will still start the weaning process with the old favourites of purees. Quite a lot of parents still use purees even if they are doing baby-led weaning. They use the purees as something for the baby to dip their finger food into and suck off. This gives parents the peace of mind that their child is still getting a good level of nutrients, even if they are struggling with the harder larger chunks of food. Find our more about baby-led weaning here.
Purees work so well for babies that are at the beginning of the weaning process because they are so easy for them to handle, there are no lumps or hard bits and can easily be eaten off a spoon. Plus, they are super handy for parents as you can make a big batch and store them easily for the week ahead.
We have the perfect puree for every fussy little eater, plus we promise they are super easy and quick for you to whip up too.
