The Design Story of our Exclusive Tula Carrier

We have some exciting news! After months of design work, edits, tweaks and refining the little details – we officially have our very own Tula baby carrier designed by Natural Baby Shower.

It’s been a complete labour of love for the Natural Baby Shower team and we are so proud of the final design, we hope you love it too! So let’s go behind the scenes to find out how the Tula X Natural Baby Shower Rosewood Rainbow carrier came alive.

An amazing opportunity

When we were approached by the team at Tula with the opportunity to design our very own baby carrier and put our NBS stamp on one of their well loved carriers we knew it was going to be special. They let us have complete design freedom and our minds started running wild with brilliant prints and designs straight away.

Inspiration

We started the design process with a team brainstorm. We knew we wanted to incorporate as much of what the Natural Baby Shower brand stood for as much as possible to make it a truly unique and personal carrier to us. We looked into our brand colours, our ethos and values, and just some of our own personal favourite shapes and objects to include some of our own personalities into the final design.

The cutting room floor

Our Natural Baby Shower design team dove straight in to bringing some of our initial ideas to life. From getting inspiration from our green logo, the planet around us, nature and natural colours and shapes. Here is a sneak peek at some of the designs that, even though we loved them all, didn't make the final edit.

The final design

It was a tough decision but we finally all had a favourite from all the amazing designs. After a lot of consideration, it was decided that it was important to us to design a carrier that made people feel happy when they saw it and that it symbolised hope and new beginnings. An important element that played a huge part in our final decision, was that we were designing this carrier during the pandemic in 2020. The world was going through a very tough and strange time, and we wanted to incorporate an element into our design that helped symbolise a little bit of hope and to encourage people to look to the brighter days ahead. With this the Rosewood Rainbows design was born.

Rainbows became a big part of the pandemic last year with people putting them in their windows and becoming a real sign of optimism, solidarity, and hope for the world. We knew we just had to make a rainbow a key feature in our design.

Introducing the Tula X NBS Rosewood Rainbow carrier

Here it is! Our final design - Rosewood Rainbow. A beautiful blend of calming and pretty neutral hues of pinks, creams and earthy dark rose colours. With the rainbow taking centre stage as a symbol we all came to value through what has been a very tough time for many.
