BIBS is a Danish brand that truly understands our mission to offer products that are best for baby, parent and planet. With their collection of baby essentials, they want to make sure that the little ones of the world inherit the earth with a brighter future.
In this blog, we’ll help you get better acquainted with BIBS, share some of the products in their collection and give some top tips for how to look after your pacifier.
The BIBS Mission
BIBS was established n 1978 and their iconic round colour pacifier was first created over 40 years ago. Today, BIBS has a wide collection of baby accessories and have come so far since their original pacifier.
For the beginning, BIBS hold sustainability close to their heart, and their ambition is to produce high-quality products using the best quality and ethically sourced materials. They strike the perfect balance between stylish design, functionality and consideration for the planet. With fun designs and cute colours, BIBS products are made to give little ones a colourful start to life. As a fashion brand, to ensure that they are always introducing fresh designs to their collection, BIBS often collaborates with other well-known fashion brands like Liberty and Studio.
BIBS’ work with environmental, social and governance is focused on the entire supply chain, all from creating sustainable designs, using sustainable raw materials, reducing CO2 emissions in production, using recycled materials in packaging and more.
Another reason why BIBS is a brand close to our NBS heart, is the work they do for charity. Every year, BIBS supports a number of charity initiatives, and invests time to support and work together to help those in need.
The BIBS Range
Pacifiers
BIBS make a variety of premium pacifiers made from either latex or silicone, both of which are entirely 100% food-safe materials. At NBS, we feature BIBS’ Boheme pacifiers, Colour pacifiers, De Lux pacifiers and Supreme pacifiers.
Their Boheme pacifiers are inspired by a modern bohemian style, featuring natural elements with an organic silhouette.
Their colour pacifiers are made for the most modern and stylish families. The design is their signature round shield with three vent holes to protect your little one’s gentle skin. They also have an engraved handle ring to ensure a comfortable grip and some are available in three different shapes to match the needs of your baby. There are a wide range of colours and patterns available to suit every style, including their popular BIBS X LIBERTY collab.
The De Lux pacifiers are more than just a dummy, they are also the perfect accessory for your little one. These matte, subtle pacifiers have an elegant hidden gathering and are available in gorgeous neutral colours. The other difference between the De Lux pacifiers and the Colour pacifiers is in the nipple material. Their De Lux range comes with a silicone nipple while the Colour is latex.
BIBS also offer a unique Supreme pacifier, which are designed with a symmetrical shape to reduce the pressure on your baby’s teeth and jaw. This design makes the dummy ultra-comfortable for your little one.
For parents who aren't sure which pacifier shape or size is best for their baby, BIBS created a Try-It range that offers different designs, nipple shapes and materials so their baby can try a variety of styles. The Try-It range is designed to suit all babies’ different needs, sucking techniques, and mouth anatomy.
Bibs
As their name suggests, BIBS make a wonderful range of bibs that are practical, functional and of course, adorable. Their dinner bibs are made from 100% recyclable food-grade materials and their bandana bibs are made from 100% cotton, so you can rest assured that whatever you choose will be super safe and comfortable for your baby for every mealtime.
Accessories
To finish off the BIBS collection, they also make a variety of accessories such as pacifier clips, pacifier boxes, bottle sleeves, pacifier cases, teething toys, cuddle cloths and blankets.
All their accessories are made from 100% food-grade materials so you can trust that your baby is always safe with BIBS. Their toys and teethers are also designed to help stimulate your baby’s senses and motor skills.
Pacifier FAQs
When to replace pacifiers
BIBS recommends that you replace pacifiers every four to six weeks for reasons around both safety and hygiene.
Make sure to keep an eye out for any changes in surface, size, shape or any ruptures in the material and replace the pacifier immediately if you do notice any changes.
It’s also important to pull the nipple in all directions and inspect it closely before use, replacing the pacifier at the first sign of damage or weakness.
How to clean pacifiers
The BIBS pacifier boxes are a great tool to help with sterilisation. You can sterilise both natural latex and silicone pacifiers using boiling water in the pacifier box.
- Remove insert and place pacifier inside box
- Pour over boiling water and submerge entire pacifier
- Soak for around five minutes
- Take out and leave to dry on clean towel
- You may need to squeeze any excess water from the nipple
- Place insert back inside box
You can also sterilise your silicone pacifiers in a pacifier box in the microwave by just placing the pacifier in the box with some water and heating in the microwave for around 60 seconds.
Can my baby sleep with a pacifier?
Yes, newborn babies can sleep with their pacifiers, and it is recommended that babies use them at night and nap times to reduce the risk of SIDS.
It is normal for the dummy to fall out during the night, don’t worry about putting it back in as the protective effect persists throughout their nap.
Are pacifier clips useful?
A pacifier clip is useful because they prevent your little one from dropping or losing their dummy, and they will always have access to it when they want.
Babies should never sleep with a pacifier clip as they can be dangerous at night, posing a risk of choking or strangulation.
We hope you have found this BIBS spotlight useful, and we hope that you now love them as much as we do. We are proud to continue to work with a brand that not only does what they can for the little ones of the world and their wellbeing, but also the wellbeing of our planet.
